Details:
  • We will have the first of three "farmer's market shelters" in which to hold exhibits and set up any tables and chairs out of the sun.  The other two sheds have concessions selling produce and stuff.
  • The size of this covered area is the same as 2 rows of 20 parking spaces.
  • This is surrounded by 40 parking spaces for our cars.  An overflow area is available if needed.  Nearby parking for tow rigs and trailers.
  • We can arrive early to setup.  Show is advertised to start at 10 AM

This is City Market, where the show will be held:
1.  The view from the street.  That is the building assigned to us.  We can also use the area on and around the circle in the foreground.
2.  This is a view of the building from the other end.
3-4.  There are 20 parking spaces along each side.
5.  Each parking space assignment extends inside of the building, where there's a marked off spot for the space holder to use for chairs or whatever.
6.  The remaining space inside can be used for exhibits or whatever.

I'll be there! Party

One thing that I am going to do is create a page or two of modification documentation for my Samurai.  Just for fun, I'll bring my shop crawler or maybe a mirror so folks can see underneath.

I don't have many pics of my rig on the trail,  so I'll have to regale those who visit with me the fun I had driving it offroad.  Maybe I can slap a DVD together and bring my TV...

If you have a collection of offroading pictures of your rig, see if you can slap together a photo book...

In an effort to get back on topic, I moved the chatter about 90Stomper's Excellent Adventure to:
http://www.kczuks.com/forum/index.php/topic,375.0.html

We could have gotten more out of the KCZuks at KSRocks event if it had been organized.  I trying to make the most out of this opportunity to organize the KCZUKS 4x4 Show, but I can't do it all by myself.

I don't have time to phone everyone and beg.  I need help with contest ideas, details, and judges.

Show off your capable rig by volunteering to be included in the showpiece setup.

I'll volunteer to judge   Help    something my zuki is too ordinary to be anything special.    Your list of contests looked pretty good and I couldn't think of anything to add.   Mel

You could create a few catagories, and just leave it up to a ballet box. One box for each catagory. You might consider a long distance award for the vehicle driven in.  Assign each vehicle a number, to make stuffing the votes easier.  A registration card should be filled out so you have a way to track your participation.  How early do you want to get set up?  Let us know, so we can get there to help with set up and registration.

Just a last minute thought...For those of you planning to attend that don't have a vehicle ready for the show, have a project photo table.  Lets see what your working on.  There could be several people there ready to help out with your projects.  And for those of you that can push, pull, or drag in your vehicle let's see you there!  And it wouldn't hurt for a few of us to make phone calls to our buddies and remind them about the show.

OUR SHOW IS TOMORROW!
KCZUKS 4x4 Show   Kansas City - City Market  -  July 29th 2007  --  10 AM - 2 PM

BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS!

We do not have licenses and permits to sell anything, so keep your sales private.

BRING PHOTOGRAPHS of your Zuk.  There will be a display board to show off our rigs.  There will also be an "under construction" photo display for Zuks being built, or otherwise not able to attend; so, bring photos of your build too.

If there are a few sprinkles in the morning, don't sweat it.  The chance of rain after 7AM is only 20%.  The show officially starts at 10AM, but you can get there as early as you'd like.

I'm looking forward to the chance to get better acquainted with you guys.  SEE YOU AT THE SHOW!

FROM THE NORTH:
From I-29 and I-35, follow the signs for I-35 South. Take the Exit 2F-Oak/Grand/Walnut on the right side. Continue on Exit to Walnut Street, turn right (north). Continue driving north on Walnut Street, and you will drive right into the City Market.

FROM THE EAST:
Head West on I-70 toward Kansas City. Just before entering downtown, follow US highway 24 West about a mile to take Exit 2F-Oak/Grand/Walnut on the right. Exit to Walnut Street, turn right (north) on Walnut Street, and you will drive right into the City Market.

FROM THE SOUTH:
Head North on I-35, toward Des Moines. Take the Main Street Exit, 2D. Continue east on 6th Street to Walnut Street. Turn left (north) on Walnut Street, go over the bridge and you will drive right into the City Market.

FROM THE WEST:
Head East on I-70 into Kansas City. Take the Main Street, Exit 2D. Continue east on 6th Street to Walnut Street. Turn left (north) on Walnut Street, go over the bridge and you will drive right into the City Market.

P.S.  BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS!
