Well after breaking a rear drive-shaft and u-joint on my last wheeling trip the T-case has problems. It makes horrible noises in 4wd.

I pulled out the drain plug and found this:

I'm guessing that is the steel ball that works with the shifter rail.

Hopefully this did not cause bad damage to my 4.9:1 gears, they weren't cheap.

I have a stock t-case for sale that is in good shape.  I replaced the shifter sheet about 2 years ago and have not had any problems with it.

When I see what the damage is I'll let you know if I need it.  Thanks.  Got some feedback at ZukiKrawlers and most guys seam to think it is a ball from one of the bearings.  So hopefully just a tore up bearing and everything else is ok.

That is what it looked like to me also.  Hopefully there was no damage to the case.  I have never had the Samurai case apart so I'm not sure how they are setup.

Good luck.
