Sorry I can't swing by to help turn wrenches.  My kids got the 4.3 in his yota and its definitely a cool kid motor with plenty of power. Drool    I'm kind of leaning toward a 22R-5sp-twin-case setup. Taunt

So whats your compelling reason for the 4.3 over a 22R?  What trans & t/c you going to run?

way to many smilies to choose from.... Jester

4.3   cause i got it cheap and lots have done it in the past.
th350 tranny  cause i got a free adapter,
dual yota cases  with 5:1 in rear case

i considered the 22 motor when i decided i wanted to go auto then i fell into a great deal ( to make up for the shitty ones )   and that was the end of that.

thought they were a little long also,

i would consider it   but like ive said in the past this is a copymobile,as i am taking others ideas  (and a few of my own) and rebuilding the flea !

twin cases behind a th350, thats sick slow behind nice power.   I don't want to cut the tunnel, so I'll probably end up with a 1.6 bolted to my zuk trans & t/c.

9 wires on a 4.3, so is the 22r with propane that much harder to wire?  I was figuring the 22r would be 3-4 wires at most. Groucho

propane is another thing im considering someday,  but know that im going to so much bigger a motor it might be impracticle because of amount of fuel consumption.?

ive wheeled plenty in 1.6's  and they do rock !

but ireally want the wheel speed.

nah,  but i did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

i havent figured out where im gonna do it.  i was gonna do it at home but my damn propert manager has been bitching about this car in the driveway with no motor or trunk ( her words )  i laughed out loud then told her it was an electric powered ATV. and is states in my agreement that i may store but not operate atv's on the property.

shes gonna check with the owner and i will probably have to move back to the barn and thats a pia. BUT, i have a buddy who just bought a shop and i might be able to do it there and i bought the motor from him.

How far from you is this barn and what are the working conditions of said barn?  Friends shop don't sound bad and if it is closer thats even better.  Post up if you have to move it and when you are ready to stab the motor.  We may have to have a motor stabin party.  Eat Drink

thanks and i was planning on something like that, it works well if you have people who have done it before.

i will let you know, i want to have everything possible ready so it goes smoothly.

i want the bellypan and drivetrain all in at once in one day, ( maybe dreaming ) reason being a good buddy from ID wants to come play for a weekend and that would be a good time.

ill post in the wrenching help needed section and send you a pm of the date.
