considering the barn i wrench in is 15 miles away and i havent been able to get out there much, i loaded up the flea (feels like less than 2000 lb.  no drivetrain helps.

so the cosemetic stuff will be finished by next week then back to the shop and install the 4.3 by the 28th.

[bravo]You gotta get on the stick and get Flea usable (one is never finished) so you don't have to keep using the thumb to get rides.  We probably won't get nearly as many pics with you driving though. Stir the Pot     Mel

It's true; the Flea is home.  Schaan's current ride is in the foreground.

want to run dual batteries with dual gauges. so i would have to have an isolator switch to keep the readings seperate,  correct?

going to mount them ,one each behind the seats so i can acsess them by putting seat forward.

is it better to have many little wires or a few really thick wires .  Huh??

also  im having problems finding a 6 volt dry cell battery?   i need one so i can weld at 30v.

thanks

go to tractor supply and get a 6 volt gel cell for a fence charger.
you dont need a co pilot anyway, you woudn't listen  Peace

How do you get enough current out of a dry cell to weld with?       Mel

Do you mean gauges to monitor the batteries voltage output? If so, I think that's going to depend on how you isolate the batteries from each other.

It's better to run larger gauge wire so you have less voltage drop.

Why can't you weld at 36 volts? Scratch Chin

I would really worry about the dry cell exploding.  The current in the circuit is the same at all points for a single loop circuit and that dry cell won't be able to handle the same current as the two lead acid batterys.  A 6 volt lead acid would probably work ok in the circuit.     Mel

While it is true that the bigger the overall gauge of wire, the better......for the individal strands of wire, within the insulation, the finer strands are better.

That is correct.  By using stranded wire instead of solid wire, you create more surface area for the electrons to migrate on thus lowering the overall resistance of the wiring - or so they told me in electronics class...

The "Skin Effect" only applies to high frequency AC.
