i want to run dual batteries with dual gauges. so i would have to have an isolator switch to keep the readings seperate,  correct?

going to mount them ,one each behind the seats so i can acsess them by putting seat forward.

is it better to have many little wires or a few really thick wires .  Huh??

also  im having problems finding a 6 volt dry cell battery?   i need one so i can weld at 30v.

thanks

The best setup is fine stranded wire.....the "electricity" actually travels on the outside of the strands of wires (not in them, as some people believe).....so therefore the more strands of wire you have, the better the electricity "flow"...less voltage drop, more amp (current) handling capacity, etc.).  But you still need to use a large gauge of wire.

I always used welder cables for the drag car. Had the battery mounted in the trunk over the right rear tire so it needed to reach a long way. Never had any trouble getting the "juice" to the front. You can get some really long welder cables too....

The "Skin Effect" only applies to high frequency AC.
