i did a spring over on my 88 sammy and  still run factory shocks.  i thought that i might need to change them and was wondering what lenth to get.  also i heard that you can run factory dodge shocks.

What you need first are new lower shock mounts to give you some length.  You can fab your own or buy them.  The best ones are from Sky.  The fronts are different from the rears.

if you want to make it simpler  just add 2" longer shock. for that spoa.

i looked at the shock hoop kits and rear kits, they look good.  but have any of you seen or heard of running the dodge shocks on the sammy's? i think i saw it in a magizne and because they are for a hevier ride they make the sammy ride a little better.  just askin questions im new.

I find just the oppoisite.  The Sammi is not heavy enough to move them very much, and the ride is worst.

You have to wait until your mods are done, and measure for the shocks.
There are too many variables for any one to give you informed advice about specific shock length.  This is how you measure for them:
