Actually, there is only one motor but it drive both blades through a linkage system.
First, is there rust around the point where the driver's side wiper shaft comes out of the windshield?
If so, then most likely your linkage is flopping around because all the metal has been eaten away. This usually means that you need to patch the steel around the wiper shaft or replace the windshield frame (with glass) altogether.
Otherwise, you'll have to remove the windshield and see what has come apart and replace the parts.
Either way, it might be a good idea to start searching the salvage yards for a new windshield frame.
The windshield is held in place by
1) four bolts (2 on each side) under the plastic covers at either outside corner of the windshield
2) four bolts (2 on each side) on a bracket on the side of the dashboard at the door jambs
3) two bolts (one on each side) at the top inside of the frame where the overhead bars attach.
The toughest of these sets of bolts to remove will be the four on the lower outside of the frame. I have found that the best way to break them loose is to apply heat from a propane torch (the kind that you use to sweat copper pipe joints together with) until the paints starts to crackle then apply vigorous pressure with a large-tipped Phillips-head screwdriver. It is essential that you use a proper-sized Phillips head screwdriver in order to avoid buggering the head! The heat causes the threadlock applied at the factory to release making it possible to loosen those bolts. If you go to a pick-n-pull type yard, you may have trouble getting the propane torch past them. The worst they can say is no, but if you plead with them nicely and show them your money, maybe they'll let you use it...
Once you have the windshield disconnected, all that is holding the windshield onto the truck is the wiper motor wiring harness and the washer fluid hose.
Hope that this helps!
