My 2c - KR has more tight turns in the woods, not really any mud and no big rock shelves like tuttle.  i really like KR, seems like there are more trails for smaller 4x4s, tuttle seems geared more for bigger tires.  tuttle is bigger though, you can pretty much hit every trail at KR in a good day.

also, i think i might try to make this, sounds like fun if i can get the g/f too. Bang Head
otherwise i am ganna try for the feb 23rd one.

I haven't been to Tuttle, and only been to KSRocks once.  But I had a lot of fun at KSRocks.
True, you can hit most every trail in one day, but a lot of them are fun to hit more than once, or run the trail backwards (some are easy one direction, but a lot harder the opposite direction).
Most trails, even several of the "black" ones are fairly easy to navigate and run if it is dry, and you have a smaller rig with at least a rear locker (my samurai has a rear locker and 31" MTs).  A few of the trails (or sections of the trails) are challenging for even a "built" rig.  There are some of the trails that I did not even attempt....beyond me and my rig's capabilities.....or maybe I was scared. Nail Bite
It has a lot more rock than the areas I am use to running (northern missouri).  It was very dry the time I was there....a little wetter (or rainy), and it would make several of the "easy" trails challenging (especially the ones with more dirt (clay) than rock).
I would definitely like to go back, at some point.....hopefully I can make it on the 20th.

Thanks for the input, I can't wait to go and check it out.  I am going to try to video some of the day.  I have rigged up a fitting on the windshield bracket to mount my MiniDV video recorder so I can do some of my own armchair wheeling.  Maybe I'll post a pic or two.

I thought I mentioned it to you.....I said something about getting the tank from you, if I can make it.  Then again, maybe I just thought I mentioned it to you. Hammer Head
Either way, maybe I'll see you there.  I am going to talk to my bro this weekend and try to convince him to bring his Heep down (so I'll have my own personal Heep to point and laugh at....actually, I'm not really that mean......usually Taunt).

Thanks for the offer......but I don't think I'll need any electricity.  My samurai runs on gas (doesn't need to be recharged), I don't use a curling iron (hair is too short),  I'm not bringing the stove (too big and heavy), and the tent doesn't have any electrical outlets. Jester

But I'll check with my brother to make sure he doesn't need electricity for his toy Heep. Tease

I see according to their website that regular tent camping is $8 per night.  But they mention something about special pricing, if you are visiting KRRP.  How much is the "special pricing", for camping?

What the hell was up with the wind?Huh??? Dunno  I have a dome tent that is 6 foot tall in the center and the wind was blowing it hard enough the sides were laying down enough to beat me in the face.....yeah, real fun night to try to sleep in a F'n tent.

Nice to see all you guys though.......oh wait, Flea and 90Stomper were the only two that made it.......WTF was up with the rest of you guys that were going to make it?

Damn, there were a lot of Heeps there.  For me being the only Samurai in the park, all the Heeps pretty much stayed away from me.......I guess they didn't want to get spanked by a "little" samurai Smokin'.....although I did have this gray Heep (it's a '57, Flea) that kept following me around all weekend.....he stayed with me pretty good.....so I let him lead for awhile.....I followed him everywhere he went.

I think we got some decent video.....but I don't know if I can get it posted.....I don't have a high-speed connection and I don't think my brother knows how to get the video online.

Hey, Flea......too bad you weren't there this afternoon..... you know those 2 big cement culverts in the "play area" (the 5 or 6 foot ones, not the 2 foot ones)........I was actually able to get my front tires up and over the top of the first one (it was kinda interesting...I had to hit it at an angle and step one tire at a time up onto the side of the culvert....otherwise, either my winch or spring ends/shackles would hit the culvert).....but unfortunately, I couldn't get my back tires to bite enough to get me up on top (I was bottoming out hard on the frame)......but it was close....oh well, maybe next time.

Oh, and I passed Smuz and his boy (they were coming back from Disney, I assume) on my way back to KC......almost ran Smuz off the road Nail Bite......sorry about that Smuz, I'd been around Heeps all weekend and their lack of driving skills must have rubbed off on me.

we had a great time   better than usual   other than  not all the  zuk's showed up.  but the ones that did were awesome !!!!!!

btw   ive been told that 75  highway  south from topeka is the best way to get to Ks Rocks.

  absolutley 100% B.S.

took us 2:58  to get there   going 75 south to 54 east.

took us 2:33 coming back 69 North to 10 backside of lawerence.
smooth roads  4 lane   etc.  etc.

that is omitting stops

even to disney taking 75  hwy  is a joke.

all i had to do was mapquest it  and i would have had an intelligent answer.

still cant believe i got suckered into that route the last two times.

beggars cant be choosers i guess.

yeah   i was really impressed with your courtesy   considring the  piles and piles of heeps    i was even shocked at the Heep %%%       guess if you are scared of em as some are   it could be seen as a bad thing,  otherwise they are great fodder !!!

I'll have to check out the video (probably be a week or two, since it's my bro's camera).  If it's worth posting, I'll have him edit it and send you a copy.

Yeah, I didn't attempt the small culverts yesterday......I squared up to them and smacked the ends of the leaf springs, so I backed off......didn't want to risk Fing anything up, with another day of wheelin' ahead of me.
But at the end of the day today.....I thought "what the hell" I'll try the BIG ones.  Like I said, didn't do so well.....but it was fun trying.....I got to burn some tread off the tires....that's always fun, right?

Thass OK, I saw ya coming, so I wuz ready for ya. My driving skills were honed razor sharp from trying to keep from running over all them pesky 4 wheel ATV's at Disney. Damned Gnats, they got no sense at all.
