I've got an "87" 1.3L 8V in a "86" Sami that I recently bought that has an oil burning problem and won't pass smog. The engine has good comp. in all cylinders ( 170#-160#). It idles and runs just as smooth as can be and it doesn't actually produce any smoke though until the engine reaches operating temp. I have tried temporarily blocking off smog system and replacing valve guide seals. I pulled the head off to get a visual and replaced head gasket with no positive results. I have never yet seen an engine that had failing oil rings with such good compression before but i am new to tinkering with Suzuki's. Has anyone encountered this problem before or have any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any input !
