Would love to hear from a few of you that have built youre own body lift. I want to put about three inchs on mine. Then I want to tackle a 9 inch suspension lift. First things first, I'll do the body lift.

I agree with nunk. With a 3", ya gotta extend the gas filler and the transfer case shifter lever. Your E-brake has to re-routed, some vacuum hoses need lengthened, the power steering resivour needs remounted and all kindsa other crap. And the bumpers look like crap.

With a 2", yer spared almost alla that.

To each his own, though.

This why I came to you guy's. Thanks alot for the inside info. I will make it a 2 inch body lift. I guess I said 3 inchs, because I could do that lift easily on my old chevy. Two inchs will work and I can cut the fenders if I need more room for the tires to clear.

Thanks again, Kelly

10 or 12 years ago, I made my own 3" bodylift for my 89 sidekick, that I had at the time.
I have a list (somewhere) of everything I did and had to modify to get it to work.
Off the top of my head, I can remember.......
I know I did not put on a longer gas filler hose.....I simply slid it down the metal part of the filler neck and rehose clamped it on, in order to get it to work.
I did extend and rebend the tcase shifter.
The brake booster hose bolt in the firewall had to be taken out for the hose to be long enough.
IIRC, I left the actual bumpers in place and moved the bumper covers up to lessen the gap.
It didn't have PS, so I didn't have to do anything there.
I didn't change the ebrake cables or routing.

It sounds like the 2" lift is a better option though, according to the general consensus.

9" suspension lift?  That should be interesting.
