Poor lit'l Wilson lost a lot of respect in one really slimey hole but got most of it back on the bigger rocky climbs.  He did run out of steam on one climb.  There isn't anything to compare to that little 2 stroke turning about 60000 rpms coming down the steeps.   Mel

My youngest boy, Jay. He had the black LJ80 at KsRocks.

To put the matter of "driver error" to rest......

It was a slimey, nasty mudhole. I tried Wilson about 6 different lines and he stalled every time, spinning to a stop. He was on 6.00x16 30 year old military tires. I decided that he didn't have enough wheel speed. I tried the seventh line in second gear to get the wheel speed up. He went right thru.

When I got MY shit together, Wilson came thru.

Driver error. Don't blame Wilson, he's a thoroughbred.

OK Mel, next time out YOU get to take a coupla hours driving Wilson. I freaking DARE you to dis him after driving him!

Most LJ's do very good in mud except when the military tires are getting old and dry rotted, when they are new they mud like crazy, but I never heard of an LJ running out of power going up a hill, it is usually traction they will lose NEVER power, that is so strange.

i can estify to that.  the only time i got to see wilson in action was a sight i wont soon forget. up a steep hill in a cloud of blue. with a wonderful sounding pop pop pop.
