I would check the filter for blockage, and the oil for contamination, you could also pull the pan and check and make sure the screen is not clogged. also there is a point just above the filter where the oil sending unit plugs in you can pull that and put a guage there to verify oil pressure.
what grade oil are you using? if it is due to where you could prolong the inevitable by using the next wheight heavier, but if you are actually loosing oil pressure there is either blockage or wear.
hope it is just trash on the oil pump screen.
good luck

Why did you add oil?  You should check the dipstick (that is what it is there for) to see if it is actually low, before EVER adding oil.  How did you know how much oil to add, without checking the dipstick (I guess you didn't, from the sound of it).
The oil light is there to monitor oil PRESSURE, not oil level.....again, that is what the dipstick is for.
As mentioned, you can try changing the oil and seeing if it clears up.....doubtful.  Usually low oil pressure is an indication of excessively worn parts.  The oil lights on most of my samurais are on at idle (worn oil pump, etc., I assume).  My "fix" is to bump the idle up a little to keep the oil light off.......not a "proper" fix, but it ain't worth it to me to rebuild the engine....I'll just throw a spare in, if it ever dies.

Pull the valve cover and make sure one of the screws that holds the rocker arm shafts didn't come out.  They'll leak enough oil to drop the pressure.    Mel

like i said, it was dark and i was on my way to work so i didnt have time to do much else but dump a couple of qts in. i changed the oil and filter about a month ago but something i just thought of that might have something to do with it, i did the seafoam treatment 3 weeks ago. i ran 1/3 of the bottle thru the carb poouring slowly. then killed the engine and poured the rest in the carb and let it sit. after 15 mins i went to start it up and it was hydro locked. i pulled the plugs out and turned the engine over and got it out of the cylinders, replaced the plugs and it started back and ran alot better. do you think some of the seafoam leached into the oil?

Ok. Scratch Head  Pull the dipstick, wipe it off, stick it back in, pull it out again, hold it in front of the headlights to check the level......not hard, and doesn't take long (would have been faster than dumping 2 quarts in).  Anyway, now you know how to do it right next time. Peace

I thought you could actually run seafoam in the oil......so it shouldn't hurt it, if some got in the oil.  If some did get into the crankcase, then it could have loosened up some of the deposits in the engine and they could have gotten into the oil pickup screen and/or partially clogged the oil filter.
Personally, I haven't had much luck with running seafoam through an engine.....didn't run any better, and MPG stayed the same.....so basically a waste of $$ for me.

As mentioned before, an oil change sounds like the first thing you should do.
