Me and the babies, 60 and 80 lb pitbulls

« on: December 24, 2007, 08:02:51 am »

Like it says, I'm looking for information on buying a new top. Evilbay  has the cheapest ones at around $150. Bestop, Pavement ends, Rugged Rideg all start above that. I'm trying to get the most for the least. I've emailed a few of them asking about factory seconds.
My question to you more experienced Zuker's is, am I wasting my time. Do I need to just bite the bullit? If so, who makes the best for your money.

Thankls for all your help.

Bestop.  I have purchased 3 from the Ebay company in Florida called Morris 4x4.  They are Christian owned company and the tops they sell are quality parts.  Mine came to me $219 shipped.  Black and nice.  They come with a manufacturer's warranty and I have had Zero issues with them

Best Top I have ever used.

I have had good luck with Quadratec.  They have a good selection and reasonable prices.  On the cheep, you need to shop around.  This is a great time of year to find discounts offered by many of the retailers.  Keep us informed on your find.

I have a Pavement Ends Replacement top and all i have to say is that it doesn't leak , it is fairly thin  the denim and the windows i know its the nature of the beast that soft tops flop and rattle but OMG if you buy one of these you might want to buy a good set of silicone ear plugs I would go with the Bestop , JMO
     good luck

Just to let you know there was one on craigs list, I copied and pasted the add below.
I have a new in the box covertible top for a Geo Tracker 1988-1994. It was bought mistakenly for a 95 and will not fit. I has only been out of the box for less than 10 minutes and then quickly replaced. I am in rogers ar, but i am frequently in K.C. area. call if interested, thanks 479-616-6338 offers and trades might be entertained.
