Well with the new motor in zeke he's definately been running better but shortly after the new motor he just wouldn't idle.  I played with the timing.  I re ran all the vacuum hoses.  I messed with a bunch of other stuff and he was still running realy rough at idle.  The idle was running around 5-600.  after a short bit it would die. 
Today I got a bright idea and pulled the hose running to the dizzy that comes off the bimetal vacuum switching valve on the lower front of the intake manifold.  when I pulled the hose off there was no change in engine run. and I couldn't feel vacuum through the valve.  I unpluged something else on the manifold and put the dizzy advance there and started it back up and it ran great.  I guess I found out what happens when a BVSV sticks shut....   just in case any of you all are having similar probs...
